Electrical

The use of aluminium in electrical and thermal applications is due to the good electrical and thermal conductivities of the alloys mainly from the 1 (for electrical) and 3, 5 and 6 series (for thermal), but again its light weight, favorable strength-to-weight ratio and a durable corrosion resistance are added benefits compared to other materials. Although the aluminium’s volume thermal conductivity is less as compared to copper; the extrudability of aluminum allows versatility in the design of aluminum profiles. Configurations well suited for heat dissipation are produced quite economically. Extruded sections are also color anodized to increase the emission capacity of the radiating surfaces.
